Mumbai: Malayali player Minnu Mani has been included in the Indian women’s team for the Twenty20 series against Bangladesh. All-rounder Minnu Mani was included in the 18-member team. This is the first time that Minnu Mani is getting a chance in the senior team of India. Minnu Mani is also the star of Delhi Capitals in the first Women’s Premier League. He is a native of Wayanad. Minnu has been included in the Twenty20 team only.
Minnu Mani was brought to the camp of Delhi Capitals for 30 lakhs. Earlier, Minnu also featured in the blue jersey of the Indian A team. A left-handed batsman and spinner, Minnu did not get a chance in Delhi’s first matches of the season. But he got a chance to debut against Mumbai Indians.
Meanwhile, the omission of key players like wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh and pace bowling spearhead Renuka Singh was a surprising decision. The BCCI has not disclosed the reason for the dismissal of the duo. Pace bowler Shikha Pandey, left arm spinners Rajeshwari Gaekwad and Radha Yadav are the other notables out.
