President López Obrador Thanks Supporters for Celebrating His Electoral Victory

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador thanked this Sunday the nearly 250,000 attendees who went to the Zócalo in Mexico City yesterday to celebrate five years of his electoral victory.

“Thank you, people!” He wrote on his Twitter account, where he posted a video with images that were not shown in the broadcast made yesterday by the Center for the Production of Informative and Special Programs (Cepropie).

Within these images you can see the moment in which the head of the federal Executive greets, accompanied by his wife Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, the candidates for the presidential candidacy: Marcelo Ebrard, Claudia Sheinbaum, Adán Augusto López Hernández, Gerardo Fernández Noroña and Manuel Velasco .

The video recording, in which some fragments of his speech are reproduced, begins with the departure of President López Obrador from the Gate of Honor of the National Palace hand in hand with his wife, and after saluting the National Flag carried by the escort of the Armed Forces, addresses those attending the celebration.

In the video it can be seen that the supporters -most of them older adults- greeted him carrying “Pejeluches”, “AMLITOS parlantes”, as well as banners and where some took the opportunity to deliver petitions.

At the end of the recording, President López Obrador is observed returning to the National Palace through the Puerta de Honor and after greeting the national flag, together with his wife, he walks through some rooms of the historic site.
