The Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival opened yesterday evening with great applause for Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio “Elias”. The concert will be repeated with the same cast and is now being broadcast live on NDR.de.

Internationally renowned vocal soloists and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra under its chief conductor Alan Gilbert delighted the audience in the almost sold-out Lübeck Music and Congress Hall. Michael Volle stepped in at short notice for the sick singer Florian Boesch. For this he received special applause.
