In the tournament of the first or future league of Latvia, the streak of failures has stretched for the team of the United football academy “Olaine”, which has not been able to win for the fifth game in a row. On Sunday, the Olainians visited the football players of the Grobiņa Sports Center and experienced a 1:3 loss.
After conceding two goals, the guests recovered one with the efforts of Konstantin Fyodorov, but at the end of the game, the home team restored the two-goal advantage. Olaine is in ninth place in the tournament table with 11 points in 10 games.
In the ninth round of the Western Group tournament of the Latvian second league, the Mārupe Sports Center team won a devastating 6:1 victory over the “PPK”/”Betsafe” football club on Saturday in Jaunmārupe. Kristians Korsaks and Gatis Strauss scored two goals each, Nauris Bulvītis and Ahmed Bashers scored one each. In the table, Marupians are in second place with 21 points, one point behind the leaders, the second team of the “Jelgava” football school. In the last eighth position are still the players of FK “Ķekava/Auda”, who have no points yet.
In the Eastern group, the first victory in the ninth round of the tournament was achieved by FK “Salaspils” football players on Sunday, who beat Jēkabpils sports center team 2:1 away. The home team took the lead first, but two accurate shots by Erik Borodushka at the end of the first half and in the middle of the second half ensured success for the Salaspils. True, this does not allow them to move up from the last eighth place in the table (4 points).
