The “PAP” agency announced that Poland intends to send an astronaut to the International Space Station next year, and Polish Minister of Development and Technology Waldemar Buda said: “We plan to send the Polish astronaut Slawz Oznanski on his first trip to the International Space Station. He added: Oznanski is a member of the European Space Agency’s astronaut reserve crew, and in order to organize his trip into space, Poland is ready to significantly increase its financial assistance in financing space projects.
It should be noted that Poland has sent one person into space until today, cosmonaut Miroslav Hermaszewski, who went into Earth orbit in 1978 aboard the Soviet spacecraft Soyuz 30.
