Everything was ready, this Saturday afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., for the start of the first race of the Montauban triathlon, under the guidance of the organizer Yannick Pedrono and how better to succeed this first day than to see the local Solène Tan become French university champion?

The sky was low and a few drops were falling when the 29 competitors in the 8-11 year old category set off, throwing themselves with desire and happiness into the waters of the Tarn. Perfect weather for a sportsman. A first race which saw the Albigensians take over the race from start to finish, escaping from the swim at two, then at three and finally at four until the finish line, after 100 meters of swimming , 2 km of cycling and 1 km of running to finish.

We were going to quickly follow up with the 12-13 year olds (200 m, 4 km and 1.5 km). On this second event, two competitors took off swimming in the Tarn to keep it until the end. Once again, the Albigensians monopolize the bouquets on this second test where the first Montalbanais Gustave Jooris takes the sixth place.

Cocorico, the victory for the girls went to the Montalbanaise Maylie Barroso-Manaud of the Triathlon Club Montalbanais (the daughter of President Jérôme Barroso). A true champion who knew how to pull out of the game.

At 7 p.m., the highlight of the first day in S format was given, the French university championship. If, among the boys, five competitors competed for the title almost to the end, a title won by the Lyonnais Yanis Fleureton, among the girls, to the delight of everyone around the Triathlon Club Montalbanais, Solène Tan killed the suspense quickly. She was the strongest.
