Warning: Growing Threats to Health and Pharmacy Sectors in Lebanon

The head of the Pharmacists Syndicate, Joe Salloum, warned that “the health and pharmacy sectors are in danger, in terms of drug smuggling, the rampant in illegal pharmacies, and the proliferation of unlicensed beauty centers.”

He continued, in an interview with “Voice of Lebanon”, and this is also due to the sale of medicines that were subsidized and smuggled abroad in shops and through social media, in addition to the entry of medicines into Lebanon from different countries without being monitored.

In turn, the head of the Syndicate of Owners of Private Hospitals, Suleiman Haroun, indicated that “the health and hospital situation is in danger, due to the lack of human resources, including doctors and nurses, as a result of their emigration.”

He pointed out, in an interview with “Voice of Lebanon,” that “this will lead to the closure of many hospitals in Lebanon.”
