Lionel Messi is known not to return to FC Barcelona. The world champion joins Inter Miami. Messi likes to think back to his time with the Catalans – among other things, when he talks about his favorite team-mates.
What do Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Deco, Ronaldinho, Luis Suarez and Neymar have in common? They all played alongside Lionel Messi – and make the Argentine’s list of favorite team-mates.
In an interview with Titan Sports, the 36-year-old explained: “I was lucky enough to play with the best players in the world like Ronaldinho, Deco, Eto’o, Suarze, Iniesta or Busquets. I almost forgot about Neymar, there were so many .”
Messi then remembered other former team-mates: “Ibrahimovic, Villa (David Villa, ed.) and many more. I enjoyed playing with everyone. I can count myself lucky.”

Pep Guardiola “the best coach”
At FC Barcelona, Messi was under Pep Guardiola’s command for four years, between 2008 and 2012 the Catalans won 14 titles under the current ManCity coach. Messi is still impressed by Guardiola. He is “the best coach in the world,” praises La Pulga.
A long dry spell recently ended for Guardiola. After winning the 2011 Champions League with Barça, he waited in vain for the next triumph in the premier class for years. With Barça (2012), Bayern (2013 to 2016) and Manchester City (since 2016), he made a total of ten unsuccessful attempts to win the handle pot again.
Two weeks ago, Guardiola was finally able to celebrate his third premier league success as a coach after beating Inter Milan 1-0 in the final in Istanbul. “He deserves this title,” Messi is happy for his long-term companion, with whom he is still in contact eleven years after their collaboration ended.
