Commemorating the Battle of Gettysburg: Re-enactment of the Bloodiest 19th Century Civil War Battle

Thousands of Americans commemorated Friday the Battle of Gettysburg, one of the bloodiest battles in the history of the 19th century civil war in the United States.

The battle took place in the original arena of the famous incident, at Daniel Lady’s farm in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where thousands of Americans donned military uniforms, rode horses, and set out to re-enact the facts of that critical period in American history that took place from July 1 to July 3 of the year 1863, when Nearly 10,000 Union and Confederate troops were killed, and another 30,000 wounded.

Annually, an association of historians re-enact the famous battle over the weekend in its original arena.
