AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D: Limited Edition Processor Exclusively Available at Microcenter

Although the latest generation of processors in the form of the Ryzen 7000 series has been out since last fall, AMD has decided to release one more, probably the last model on the AM4 socket. The Ryzen 5 5600X3D processor is similar to the popular Ryzen 7 5800X3D, only with fewer cores and a slightly lower frequency, but its release is a bit more complicated.

We didn’t even receive the announcement directly from AMD, but through various magazines or YT channels, for example Gamers Nexus. This is because the US store handles the release Microcenterwhich means only – you cannot buy the processor anywhere other than the United States. And why is that? This is not a completely classic release of a new model. Over time, AMD has accumulated quite a large number of partially defective 5800X3D chips that could be sold as a lower model. There weren’t enough for a global release, but there were for a specific market, so it will only be available in the Microcenter store. Stocks are still relatively limited, they are estimated to last 3 to 6 months.

The processor offers 6 cores/12 threads with a frequency of 3.3 Ghz and a boost to 4.4 GHz. The size of the L3 cache is 96 MB, just like the higher V-Cache model, so the performance in games could be very solid. Consumption should be a maximum of 105 W and the price tag is set at 229 US dollars. A new model will arrive on the shelves of Microcenter stores July 7th.
