Flu Vaccination Campaign 2023: Reaching the Most Vulnerable Communities

It is a joint initiative of Centro Rossi, Droguería del Sud and Stamboulian. They seek to reach the most vulnerable population.

Centro Rossi, Droguería del Sud and Stamboulian Health Services announced the flu vaccination campaign 2023 whose main objective is to reach 5,000 vaccines to the most vulnerable communities through neighborhood centers.

The campaign will be carried out in neighborhood clubs, NGOs, soup kitchens and parishes during the months of June and July in the City of Buenos Aires and in the Province of Buenos Aires.

Thanks to an agreement with the Civil Association “Can you give me an hour?” the reach of the campaign was extended. Through the initiative, a group of doctors donate an hour of their time to treat low-income people free of charge.

“Vaccination is a key tool to prevent severe forms of influenza, If the pandemic taught us anything, it is that we must make the most of every vaccination opportunity”, affirmed Mariano Masciocchi from the Civil Association “Can you give me an hour?”.

According to the figures from the latest vital statistics report from the National Ministry of Health, 63,018 Argentines died in 2021 from diseases related to the respiratory system, of which 33,812 corresponded to flu and pneumonia. This represents 8.2% of the total deaths from known causes during that year.

“Influenza vaccination is the best way to protect yourself against this disease, reduce its severity and avoid its possible complications. Furthermore, it is key to understand that not only those who get vaccinated are protected, but also those around them”, added Agustina Rossi, director of Centro Rossi.

For his part, Hernán Bagliero CEO Droguería del Sud, added that “being part of this flu vaccination campaign together with these renowned institutions, bringing vaccines to neighborhood clubs, NGOs, soup kitchens and parishes is truly a source of pride for us. It is part of our commitment to caring for the health and well-being of all Argentines”.
