Court of Appeals of Valdivia Concludes 117th Anniversary with Pro-Consumer Law Conversation and Social Support Activities

With the conversation called “Pro-Consumer Law, what’s new?”, by the academic from the Austral University of Chile María Elisa Morales Ortiz, and social support activities aimed at organizations linked to the protection of vulnerable children and animal organizations, the Court of Appeals of Valdivia concluded the commemorative activities for its 117th anniversary.

The president of the court of appeal, Minister Rodrigo Carvajal Schnettler, pointed out that “we are very satisfied with the response of the legal community to the cycle of conversations that we carried out within the framework of our new anniversary. On this occasion, we have the assistance of civil society organizations dedicated to the defense of consumer rights, public services linked to the matter, free practice lawyers, judicial officials and law students, which reflects the interest that generate these types of activities.

For her part, Lidia Levancini Santibáñez, a member of the Association of Consumers and Consumers, FOJUCC, indicated that “for us it is very important to be able to participate in these spaces, especially when they are issues of updating regulations since we work directly with the community… with that user who often avoids prosecution of their problems and we are a support mechanism for the community. In this sense, we are very happy to be here and we hope that they continue to be repeated”.

Social activities
For this anniversary, as in previous years, officials, ministers, rapporteurs, and administrators of the Valdivia Court of Appeals organized to support organizations for the common good of the region. María Lorena Manríquez, director of the Nidal residence, valued the contribution made by judicial officials “we care for children from newborn to six years of age, for which we are very grateful for this contribution since the needs of children are not run out”.

Along the same lines, Nicol Sandoval, differential education teacher and director of the Valdivia Hospital School valued the contributions delivered “this material is very useful to us. Our current enrollment is 29 children, but monthly we are serving around 70 children with daily attendance, providing education, in addition to the children enrolled, to students who are hospitalized in oncology, pediatrics, and child surgery services, and these contributions go live. benefit of them.”
