After signing Marvin Mika and Danny Breitfelder, SC Fortuna Köln have signed another striker. Justin Steinkötter is moving from 1. FC Saarbrücken from the 3rd division to the south of Cologne.
Steinkötter began his career in the Hammer Spielvereinigung youth team. After two years in the Preußen Münster youth team, the 23-year-old switched to the Borussia Mönchengladbach U19s in 2018. Here the two-footed center forward immediately became the top scorer in the A-Junior Bundesliga West. After that Steinkötter played a total of 89 times for the second division of the Bundesliga in the Regionalliga West, in which he scored 23 goals and provided seven assists. After his station on the Lower Rhine, the 1.84 meter tall striker went to 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 3rd division, where he scored ten goals in 53 games and set up five more.
Justin Steinkötter is looking forward to the upcoming time in the south of Cologne: “I’m looking forward to being here, to playing in the south stadium soon and I’m looking forward to the fans.”
Matthias Mink, sporting director of Fortuna, emphasizes: “With Justin Steinkötter we have gained a new piece of the puzzle in our squad planning. He should provide us with a goal threat from the center or from the track.”
The entire Fortuna family is happy to welcome Justin Steinkötter to the south of Cologne.
