The Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, stated on Friday in Mamaia, at the presentation of the personnel and techniques of the MAI structures that will operate in this summer season on the coast, that the safety of the citizen is not negotiable and told the MAI structures to show that they are stronger than those who commit crimes, according to news.ro.
“Citizens have paid fees and taxes for street safety. It is unacceptable for her to pay with her health and sometimes her life for her insecurity. I know you are doing your duty, but more is needed. I don’t hesitate to tell you. I am a man who always wants more from performance, from us, from my colleagues, from me, but also from you. Citizens expect this. It is not an empty word. The world trusts the police. Does the Ministry of Internal Affairs trust its structures, the firefighters and all those who work in one way or another to comply with the law, from border guards to the protection of victims of human trafficking. But we need to strengthen this trust. There is this expectation from us and, I assure you, we are with you, we will work as a team and we will continue the efforts made in previous years. We will continue them”, said Predoiu.
He also had a message for the staff from the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Make the law strong, show that you are stronger than those who commit crimes, more organized, trained, professional and dedicated to the law and the citizen. I, like you, like any citizen, sometimes have pressures and concerns, and I want to assure you that we will do our duty that the law respects your status and improves it, strengthens it, you have all the logistical facilities. I assure you the Government and the Parliament respect you and will respect you and this will be seen in the laws. In any case, I will spare no effort to ensure your compliance with the laws, from the position and with the powers of the position that I exercise temporarily. But at the same time, neither you nor we have the right to be overwhelmed by these concerns and difficulties”, Predoiu also declared.
