A 14-year-old boy died after falling from a subway car in Queens on Thursday, according to police reports.
According to police, the teen fell from a 7 train in the vicinity of Queens Boulevard and 33rd Street just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
The teenager fell onto a footbridge to the side of the train located on elevated tracks in the open air, according to police.
Police had initially said the incident was allegedly another case of so-called subway surfing, but later said the circumstances of the incident were unclear, and they could not say exactly where the teenager fell from.
The teen was taken to Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Queens in critical condition but was pronounced dead hours later, according to the New York police.
Last week another young man died trying to do ‘subway surfing’.
