Club Brugge and Youssouph Badji want to separate permanently. And so, sooner than expected, an always difficult marriage comes to an end.
Club Brugge no longer counts on the services of Youssouph Badji. His possible new destination will be Charleroi, the team that also used him on a rental basis last year.
The Zebras have decided not to lift the expensive purchase option on the 21-year-old blue-black attacker. Still, they are in full talks to take it over, for a lower amount.
Once worth 5 million euros
Last season, Badji certainly did not do badly at Charleroi, including five goals in 26 games. Moreover, he certainly seems to have room for growth with the Zebras.
The Senegalese’s value is estimated at around 1.5 million euros on Transfermarkt, but given a contract with Club Brugge that expires in June 2024, that seems too much for Charleroi.

In any case, Club Brugge no longer seems to be counting on him. They bought him from Casa Sports in January 2020, in October 2020 his market value had suddenly risen to 5 million euros.
He had started well in the 2020-2021 season on Jan Breydel and could count on a permanent starting place. In that first year he played 33 games for blue-black, after that it went downhill.
End of story
A loan to Stade Brestois followed, six months later he was sent back again and then loaned to Charleroi for eighteen months. And there he has gradually found his best form.
As a real top talent, he arrived at Club Brugge at the age of 18, but he was never really able to push through. The chance that it will still happen is therefore getting smaller and smaller.
