Sources active in the dollar market told “Lebanon 24” today, Thursday, that a decision was taken among the big money changers to “rest the market” a little during the holiday period by stopping “minor” speculation, noting that there was dollar liquidity that entered the market during The past few days through 3 sources, namely: money transfer offices – transfers through banks from expatriates to their families – salaries paid to private sector employees, most of which are in dollars.
According to the sources, there are estimates indicating that the demand for the dollar declined at the beginning of this week amid the influx of new liquidity, which was automatically reflected in the exchange rate, as it recorded a slight decrease, reaching the limit of 92,000 pounds, after it was more than 93,200 pounds recently.
