Luis Castro appointed as new manager of Al-Nassr partnering with Cristiano Ronaldo

Luis Castro has agreed to become Al-Nassr’s new manager and partner with star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Al-Nassr is set to appoint Castro as the new manager after he accepted the club’s offer which means he will leave Botafogo. GOAL can confirm that the former Shakhtar Donetsk manager was drawn to the project in Saudi Arabia, as he tries to improve both the club and the league as a whole.

Al-Nassr failed to win the Pro League title last season, finishing second behind Al-Ittihad. This led to a coaching change, with Rudi Garcia being sacked at the start of the summer.

Botafogo are currently top of Serie A in Brazil, seven points clear of Gremio, but Garcia is ready to leave the club to embark on his new project in Saudi Arabia.

Castro will lead Botafogo against Magallanes in the Copa Sudamericana on Friday, before traveling to Al-Nassr.
