Cuban actor Ricardo Becerra, known for his starring role in the film Plantedby Lilo Vilaplana, received a luxury guest this week on his Facebook program, my grandmother cooks.
Becerra, who each week presents different recipes, and sometimes guests, received her colleague, actress Coralita Veloz, who arrived in Miami in 2022 this Friday.
The actor began by welcoming him, recalling that he shared a scene with the great actress in 2001, on the set of the movie play swede.
To introduce the guest, the program dedicated a brief profile, in which her career was discussed, from its beginnings in the 80s, and her foray into all media, film, theater and television.
Coralita also worked as an entertainer for TV musical programs, such as Good afternoonand in the programs in frequency y Surpriseboth from Radio Liberación.
Becerra also gave the first actress a tour of her home, and for the first half of the program she talked with her, reminiscing about her experiences on set, with the comedy they shared and talking about the Cuban’s career.
In this sense, Becerra took the opportunity to promote Coralita’s latest short film, The Polesfrom 2020, which gave the actress an award at a festival in Seattle, in the United States.
“It is a dialogue between mother and daughter, very strong,” declared the actress, who filmed the film in the company of her daughter, also actress Tahimi Alvariño.
The actor also wanted to know how the first actress had managed to combine a successful career in the show with a fulfilling personal life, in which she has managed to have children and grandchildren with whom she has a close and affectionate relationship.
“I really appreciate it very much, I thank life for the family I’ve had,” he said, adding that he was grateful to have met again upon his arrival in Miami, after several years apart.
In the second half of the show, the actress finally got to the kitchen, where they talked about some of the recipes they had in their lives in Cuba, and then went on to prepare food in a healthy way, with the advice of the nutritionist at the show, Granya González.
They also talked about their favorite dish: the croquette, where Coralita took the opportunity to tell her own method to make the best ones.
Undoubtedly, a very fun afternoon for both of them, and where they could enjoy one of the best-known dishes in Cuba, and the most longed for by both.
