Chennai: Governor RN Ravi dismissed V. Senthil Balaji, who is in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate in a corruption case. The governor sacked the minister in an unusual move without the recommendation of Chief Minister MK Stalin. This will intensify the rift between the Governor and the government in Tamil Nadu.

Senthil Balaji was recently arrested by the ED in a case of extorting money by offering a job. Later, Senthil Balaji was admitted to the hospital due to chest pain. Senthil Balaji, who underwent surgery, is currently in ED custody.

The judge inquired about the health condition of the minister and extended the custody period. ED arrested the minister on June 13. The arrest was made after 18 hours of questioning. Later, the minister was admitted to the hospital due to chest pain.
