A former actor from the Sinterklaas Club was sentenced to nine months in prison on Thursday, six of which were suspended. The court in Zwolle considers it proven that 58-year-old Tim de Z. committed fornication with an underage girl from Deventer.
The man exchanged messages with his fan that became increasingly sexual in tone. She was a fan of him in his role as Hoge Hoogte Piet in the film series De Club van Sinterklaas. During a meeting in March 2022, they touched each other’s genitals in his home in Amsterdam, he confessed. He finally booked a hotel room in Deventer in June 2022. On the way there, both the girl and the actor were intercepted by the police. The man has confessed that it ‘may have come to sex’ in that hotel room.
The girl sent him 708 photos and videos of her performing nude sexual acts on herself. According to the court, that material was partly commissioned by the suspect. The court believes that he abused the authority he had over the girl. The victim was vulnerable and “cryed with joy when he started following her on Instagram.” She was afraid that the friendship would end, which the suspect also threatened, and partly because of this let the appointment in Deventer go ahead.
Part of the suspended sentence is a ban on contact with the victim. He must also avoid contact with underage girls and he must undergo treatment. According to De Club van Sinterklaas, the actor has not been associated with the film series for the past five years. The man was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison, of which six months were conditionally demanded.
