Persib Commissioner Umuh Muchtar’s Grateful Eid al-Adha Sacrifice: Sharing with the Community After Recovery

Persib Commissioner Umuh Muchtar celebrated Eid al-Adha by sacrificing six cows. He is grateful that he can still share with the community after previously being sick for quite a long time. Although not as much as in previous years but he was still grateful.

On Eid al-Adha this year, Umuh slaughtered sacrificial animals in three places. Apart from his homes in Kiaracondong and Tanjungsari, one cow was slaughtered in Garut. He admitted that he was happy because the tradition of gathering and sharing with the community every year could still be continued.

“Yes there is a difference, before I could sacrifice 9-12, now 6, Tanjungsari two, three in Gang Desa, and Garut one, in Islamic boarding schools. Thank God, we can share, we can offer sacrifices, so far we have been sick for three months. Thank God, with the blessing of Allah, the prayers of all my friends were granted by Allah SWT so that I can gather again,” said Umuh in an interview, Thursday (29/6).

“Here, the sacrifice is very useful because we can share it with the people who may also expect it. It also makes it easier for them, who only get meat once a year, we share once a year with them,” he continued.

Umuh also explained the meaning of sacrifice for him, that by making sacrifices he could set aside his sustenance for the community. There is pleasure that is felt because by sharing, he can also feel happiness. Umuh hopes that next year, the number of animals sacrificed will be greater.

“The meaning of sacrifice means a lot to us. Sharing with the community with the closest residents, relatives, that is the pleasure. Thank God we are not reduced by sustenance from Allah. More is better, I only have six this year but there is no problem, hopefully next year will be even better,” he continued.

On the occasion of Eid al-Adha this year, his two children are also performing the Hajj. “Alhamdulillah, I got prayers from my sons and daughters number two and three. Alhamdulillah, we are currently performing the pilgrimage and after it is finished, we are waiting to return to our homeland, hopefully given health safety,” said Umuh.
