Arborescence: An Innovative Urban Project Redefining Angers’ Cityscape

Led by Vinci Immobilier, the Arborescence project is entering its final phase of work. The 11-storey building has already reached its final height of 35 meters and its delivery should take place from December 2023 to March 2024. Launched in June 2021, this project is part of the call for innovative urban projects Imagine Angers, launched by the municipality in 2017, aiming to design the new generation of emblematic buildings of the city. Future totem buildings that must materialize a new urban skyline for the capital of Anjou, like the Tour Tip or the Métamorphose program, also designed as part of the Imagine Angers consultation. Designed by the Angevin architects Crespy & Aumont and the Wy-To agency, Arborescence takes the form of a building in the shape of a tree. Emphasis was therefore placed on its revegetation. The building must indeed integrate more than 4,000 plants spread over all of its floors and have 1,500 square meters of vegetated surfaces. The objective is to achieve an average of three trees, seven shrubs and 90 plants per resident of the premises.
