(The matter will be updated)
10 universities and colleges will have new boards from 1 August. Six of them have employed a principal and will have an external chairman.
At OsloMet, Vibecke Hverven will be the new chairman of the board. She is from Oslo and is a partner in the consulting company Considium. Hverven takes over from Trine Syvertsen, who has been chairman of OsloMet for eight years.
The Oslo Academy of the Arts will have an external chairman for the first time, and here Idar Kreuzer has been appointed. He is area director of NHO and until March this year managing director of Finans Norge.

Four chairmen reappointed
In the case of the other four that will have an external chairman, the current chairman will be reappointed. This applies to Arvid Hallén at the College of Western Norway, Maren Kyllingstad at the College of the Interior, Anne Marit Panengstuen at the University of Stavanger and Tore Isaksen at the University of Southeast Norway.
All four of these have recorded to the ministry that they want the current chairman to continue.
Great replacement
In some of the boards, there will be a large turnover. At the University of Stavanger, Anne Marit Panengstuen will be the only one on the current board to continue for a new term. All the employee representatives are also new here.
At the Oslo Academy of the Arts, all the external members are new, and in addition, only one of the members continues to be elected by staff.
The university in Volda is also experiencing a large turnover, because here only Roar Tobro of the external ones is continuing, in addition to one of the staff representatives.
And at OsloMet, two of today’s externs, Trym Holter and Jens Erik Mogensen, continue, while Einar Braathen is the only one of the employees to leave for a new term.
As Khrono has written, three out of four employee representatives on the 10 boards will be replaced from 1 August.
Borten Moe: Very competent
In addition, the University of Agder, Molde University College, Volda University College and Sami University College will have new boards, but here the elected rector is chairman.
Everyone had a deadline in January to propose new external members to the boards, and in total there were 130 names on the lists they submitted to the Ministry of Education.
– Today we have appointed highly competent board members for around half of the state universities and colleges. I look forward to following their work in the coming period, says Research and Higher Education Minister Ola Borten Moe (Sp) in a press release.
The 11 remaining state universities and colleges have boards that sit until 2025.
