The British Think Tank Chatham House Awards Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for Leadership Qualities and Uniting the Country during the Russian Invasion

The British think tank “Chatham House” awarded the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky its prize for 2023 because of the leadership qualities he showed during the Russian invasion, reported France Presse, quoted by BTA.

His transformation from “political rookie to wartime leader is extraordinary to say the least,” Chatham House said in a statement. “The former actor united his country” against the “dreaded enemy”. He “created a form of diplomacy and leadership through social media and speaking directly to leaders around the world, gathering a broad coalition in support of Ukraine at the United Nations and beyond,” the text added.

Chatham House first presented its award in 2005, when it was awarded to Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko. Over the years, it has also been supported by organizations such as the Commission for the Protection of Journalists and Doctors Without Borders.
