BRATISLAVA – Another huge tragedy struck the world of hockey. At the age of only 20, the British hockey player and youth representative Alex Graham, who was found a few days ago without signs of life, died.
Only a few weeks ago, the 20-year-old signed a professional contract with the Sheffield Steelers club, which announced the sudden death of the talented hockey player on its website.
“We are devastated to announce the tragic passing of Alex Graham over the weekend. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and teammates of Alex. We would appreciate it if the family could be given the time and space to come to terms with this tragic loss in the coming days.” said the English club in its statement.
A huge shock
The information about the sudden death of the talented young man, who represented Great Britain in the under-18 and under-20 categories, was subsequently confirmed by the website of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF.
“Alex has played for Great Britain under 18s and under 20s and the news has come as a huge shock to everyone in British ice hockey, including all his teammates.” the IIHF said. The young man belonged to the most productive youth representatives of Great Britain, the British authorities did not specify what was the cause of his sudden death.
