In total, 17 companies received yesterday from the Government the notification of Good Labor Practices (BPL), for compliance and respect for the rights of its collaborators.
“The distinction recognizes employers who do things right and honor all their work obligations. These certifications are added to those granted for three years,” said Rafael Rodríguez, head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (Mintrab).
According to the head of the portfolio, four of the companies renewed their BPL certification for the third time, which makes them part of that culture of formality and legality.

In addition, he congratulated the employers for the inclusion of older adults, people with disabilities or returned emigrants in a job position, which translates into an opportunity for this population group.
For her part, María Isabel Salazar, Vice Minister of Labor Administration, explained that the BPL is a project that stems from voluntary compliance, in which employers demonstrate that they respect the law.
On a digital platform, companies make visible the main obligations, such as work contracts, forms from the Guatemalan Social Security Institute, proof of not having administrative sanctions and other commitments, which makes it possible to verify that it is an exemplary employer.
The official added that this program will be institutionalized by order of the Head of State, through the Directorate for the Promotion of Labor Legality.
