New Photos of Titanic Wreckage Recovery at Port of St. John’s: Investigation and Lack of Regulation Criticized

New photos, published by the Associated Press (AP) news agency, show crews collecting wreckage on land at the port of St. John’s in Canadian Newfoundland, writes NTB.

Both the US Coast Guard and Canada’s Accident Investigation Board have started an investigation into the accident, in which Hamish Harding, Paul-Henri Nargeolet, Stockton Rush, Shahzada Dawood and Suleman Dawood died.

So far, the investigation has led to criticism of the lack of regulation of such expeditions.

As is known, “Titan” was in the process of carrying out an expedition to the wreck of “Titanic”, when the submarine is said to have succumbed to the pressure, imploded and killed all five on board.

The US Coast Guard led the search for “Titan”, which developed into a massive international effort that probably cost many millions of dollars.

The search began on 18 June and ended when wreckage was found five days later. They were about 500 meters from the wreck of the “Titanic”.
