Lithuanian security officials point out that Belarusian intelligence services at border checkpoints actively interrogate Lithuanian citizens entering the country, check data carriers and the information stored on them – social network accounts, photos and cartographic routes.

Belarusian officials are gathering information about the political views of Lithuanian citizens, their workplaces and are trying to find out whether there are employees of Lithuanian law enforcement and security institutions among the families, friends and acquaintances of border crossers. Blackmail and psychological pressure are often used against Lithuanian citizens to cooperate with Belarusian special services.
Also, the Lithuanian Security Department is aware of cases where Lithuanian citizens were denied entry to Belarus in connection with their expressed support for Ukraine and condemnation of Russian aggression.
