With a heavy rain warning issued from 0:00 to 4:00 this morning, 244 mm of heavy rain fell in Gwangju, 178 mm in Damyang, 176 mm in Boseong, and 172 mm in Hampyeong, Jeollanam-do.
Overnight, 158 and 64 rain damage reports were received by the Gwangju and Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, respectively.
At around 10:30 last night, a woman in her 60s went missing in Um-myeon, Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do to open the floodgates.
In addition, a house in School-myeon, Hampyeong-gun was submerged in water, and a resident was rescued by the fire department in a flooded house in Hyeongyeong-myeon, Muan-gun.
In Gwangju, at around 11:10 pm last night, the underground parking lot of Maewol-dong Agricultural Products Distribution Center in Seo-gu was submerged, and the intersection in front of Geumho 2-dong Community Service Center in Seo-gu and the road around Ssangchon-dong were flooded.
The Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that this monsoon rain would fall until this morning and gradually enter a lull due to the influence of the congestion front located on the southern coast.
