The first day of the National Council of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac) took place at its national headquarters with the work in commissions, propitious spaces for dialogue between more than a hundred writers and artists from all over the country, who They focused their analyzes on compliance with the agreements and approaches of the 9th. Congress of the organization, the relationship of the creators with the institutions and the need to continue participating actively, from Uneac, in the cultural proposal that is offered to the population.
Artistic and literary criticism, new ways to promote art on the internet, how to insert different musical styles into cultural programming, as well as the commercialization of visual arts were other topics analyzed during the meetings of each of the Associations.
The writers focused on the need to encourage the reading habit and the promotion of books, and it was learned that in the midst of the economic and financial crisis facing the country, work is being done at the People’s Library, which will bring together essential texts that are not must be missing in bookstores and libraries, the growth of texts in electronic support is also encouraged and the need to increase the presence of literary criticism in the media was emphasized.
Among the approaches of the Association of plastic artists, architecture, heritage, urban planning, job placement and the training of young architects stood out. For their part, stage artists were concerned about teaching in Art Schools, attention to creators and how to achieve a greater impact in the promotion of the works offered to the public… Members of film, radio and television They focused on the digital transformation of society and proposed initiatives to confront cultural colonization. As the president of Uneac, Luis Morlote Rivas, pointed out, intentionality must be given to the content that is produced. They discussed the necessary articulation with schools, research centers and cultural institutions, in order to contribute to the integral formation of Cubans.
At the same time, the idea of generating and socializing uplifting content on social networks was defended, as well as seeking an increasingly critical citizen in the construction of a socialist society.
The sessions in commissions of the National Council of Uneac were attended by the deputy head of the Ideological Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Liudmila Álamo Dueñas, the Minister of Culture, Alpidio Alonso and other personalities and representatives of institutions.
