Jakarta

Joshua Reade, a make-up artist in England, never thought something bad would happen to him while on vacation. He was diagnosed with sun poisoning which caused burns to his lips and ears. What are the conditions like?

This started when Joshua and his friends went on vacation to the beach at Bournemouth, England.

“I was enjoying my day in the sun, but suddenly my ears felt strange. I got back in the car and thought it was nothing,” he was quoted as saying by the New York Post, Tuesday (27/6/2023).

But a few days later, Reade noticed multiple burns to his lips and ears.

“I felt sick for three days, and at that time I didn’t know what was wrong with my body. But then blisters appeared on my lips and ears, I immediately knew this because of a visit to the beach some time ago,” he explained.

While checking himself into the hospital, Reade got a surprising result. It turned out that he had sun poisoning and third degree burns.

“I was finally taken to the hospital, they told me that I had third degree burns and sun poisoning,” he said.

Reade then shared the condition he was experiencing to TikTok. His post immediately went viral and caught the attention of netizens.

Through the video he uploaded, Reade shows the condition of the burns on his lips and ears from day to day. In the video clip, it can be seen that the condition of the burns that were experienced was getting worse and was not pleasing to the eye.

“It’s important to make sure you are careful and take care of your skin,” Reade said in a video uploaded to TikTok.

He revealed the burns and blisters on his lips and ears lasted about two weeks. The treatment process was described by Reade as something ‘painful and very unpleasant’.
