At a special event, a joint candidacy for mayor of Sofia of “Continuing the Change”, “Democratic Bulgaria” and “Save Sofia” will be officially announced, supported by the “Sofia Team”, announced the press center of “Continuing the Change”.
Vasil Terziev is expected to be the nominee. He is an entrepreneur, the founder of one of the major IT companies, which he subsequently sold for millions.
Today, the general right-wing union remained silent about the nomination of Vasil Terziev. After months of speculation, the IT entrepreneur has neither denied nor confirmed his candidacy. A few days ago, in one of his last public appearances, Terziev himself said:
“True success in life is how many people you’ve been able to take with you on the journey of your success and help them see that they have more options than they thought they had.”
According to bTV, the current chairman of the Metropolitan Municipal Council (SOC) Georgi Georgiev will be the GERB’s proposal to succeed Yordanka Fandakova.

He is a lawyer by education and with experience in the municipal budget and finance committee.
Today more names of candidates for mayors in big cities became clear.
Varna
However, the deputy from Vazrazhdane – Kosta Stoyanov – is certainly entering the battle for the mayor’s chair in Varna.
“I am not afraid of the challenge of being the mayor of Varna – on the contrary. I’m more afraid of people’s apathy and the way and direction our city is currently developing,” he commented.
The name of Ilin Dimitrov, acting minister of tourism, has also been mentioned as a possible candidate for mayor in Varna. He could not be reached for comment.
Plovdiv
Former regional governor and former deputy from GERB Dani Kanazireva has not yet decided whether she will participate in the race for mayor of Plovdiv.
“Plovdiv categorically needs a new mayor, but the important thing is to choose a meaningful, adequate, responsible and hard-working person as mayor,” she said.
Stara Zagora
In Stara Zagora, the candidate for mayor will be the chairman of the municipal council, Maria Dineva. It is raised by a local coalition.
“The time of big parties is slowly passing, it’s time for people to choose people because of their qualities, not because they are representatives of parties,” she believes.
Already in February, it became clear that GERB will support the current mayor of the municipality, Zhivko Todorov, for a fourth term, but the final decision is yet to be made.
Sliven
And in the mayoral elections in Sliven, the former regional governor Mincho Afuzov, who was appointed by the Initiative Committee “Let’s take back Sliven”, is participating.
