Norwegian princess Ingrid Alexandra has found a new job. The nineteen-year-old princess will start working as a school assistant and environmental worker at a primary school in Oslo this fall. She will enter military service next year, the Norwegian court reports.
The eldest daughter of Crown Prince Haakon and his wife Mette-Marit will join the Engineer Battalion in Brigade Nord for twelve months next year. That is the largest unit of the Norwegian army.
After basic training, Ingrid Alexandra will be assigned a service position and will follow more specific training. Finally, a period of training will follow and she will gain practical experience as a soldier.
The princess completed her secondary education in Oslo this year. She received her diploma on June 20.
Haakon and Mette-Marit have two children. Prince Sverre Magnus is seventeen years old. Ingrid Alexandra is expected to become the country’s second female monarch, after 15th-century Queen Margaret.
