Ministry of Health Announces Fixed Vaccination Campaigns for Covid-19 and Flu in Metropolitan Area
The Ministry of Health has issued an order for the operation of fixed vaccination centers throughout the metropolitan area this Monday. The immunization campaign against Covid-19 and the Flu Vaccination Campaign will continue as part of the ongoing efforts to combat the spread of these diseases.
For the application of doses against Covid-19, the guidelines have been established for each vaccine according to age groups. The first and second doses of Covid-19 vaccines will be administered, with specific instructions for each age group. Additionally, an additional dose will be available for immunocompromised patients and individuals aged 50 and above on a Sinopharm dosing schedule. The Moderna pediatric vaccine will be administered to children between six months and five years old for both the first and second doses.
Furthermore, the first reinforcement dose will be given to individuals who have completed a four-month interval since their last application. The guidelines for this reinforcement dose will vary according to age, with children aged 6 months to 2 years, 11 months, and 29 days following a different schedule than those aged three years and above.
A second booster dose will be available for individuals over the age of 18 who are four months from their first booster dose. However, individuals who have tested positive for Covid-19 must wait 90 days before receiving the second booster dose.
Moreover, a third reinforcement dose will be administered to individuals who have completed four months since their second reinforcement dose. This includes individuals over 18 years old with risk conditions, those over 50 years old, immunocompromised individuals aged 12 and above, healthcare personnel, strategic personnel, pregnant individuals in any trimester, or those who have completed four months after giving birth.
The fixed vaccination centers will be located at various healthcare facilities, including the Police School, School of Public Health, Perrando Hospital, Pediatric Hospital, “Eva Perón” Hospital in Barranqueras, Finochietto Health Center in Puerto Vilelas, and “Luis Fleitas” Hospital in Fontana. Vaccinations will be available from early morning until late evening, and individuals are required to bring their ID and vaccination card.
In addition to the Covid-19 vaccination campaign, the Ministry of Health has also announced the continuation of the flu vaccination campaign. The strategy for influenza vaccination will be staggered, starting with individuals between the ages of 2 and 64 with risk factors.
Similar to the Covid-19 vaccination, the flu vaccination will be available at public and private vaccination centers, including the aforementioned healthcare facilities. Individuals are advised to bring their ID and vaccination card when visiting the centers.
Furthermore, testing for Covid-19 is being conducted at various points in the Resistance and Metropolitan Area. Individuals experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, loss of taste and smell, vomiting, diarrhea, difficulty breathing, muscle aches, rhinitis, or nasal congestion, which may indicate coronavirus infection, are urged to call the helpline at 0800-444-0829 or send a message to @chaco salud at 362 4300002 to report their situation and receive recommendations.
The testing centers are located at the Central Public Health Laboratory, Health Center “Villa San Martín,” “El Tala” Health Center, “Villa Cristo Rey” Health Center, “Villa Río Negro” Health Center, “Eva Perón” Hospital in Barranqueras, “Río Arazá” Health Center in Fontana, and “Luis Fleitas” Hospital in Fontana. The testing centers operate during specific hours, and on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, they are open for a limited time.
