Reinforcement works at Amphitria wastewater treatment plant: Project managed by Métropole TPM

Major Reinforcement Works Underway at Amphitria Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Amphitria wastewater treatment plant, located in Cap Sicié, is currently undergoing significant reinforcement works under the project management of Métropole TPM. The station’s new outfall has been successfully transferred by flotation from Brégaillon, its transit port, to the Amphitria site. It was then positioned and submerged to align with the first section already in place under the dyke.

The Amphitria wastewater treatment plant, which serves Toulon, Evenos, Ollioules, Le Revest-les-Eaux, Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer, La Seyne-sur-Mer, and Six-Fours-les-Plages, was built between 1994 and 1997. Over time, the plant has suffered significant damage due to wear and tear. To address this issue, reinforcement work on the dike housing the station and the replacement of the outfall that discharges the treated water into the sea began in May 2022 under the “Sanitation” competence of TPM Metropolis.

The objective of these works is to ensure the protection of the station and the emissary at sea for the next 30 years. By perpetuating the work, the wastewater treatment plant will continue to effectively serve the communities it serves.

What reinforcement works are currently being carried out at the Amphitria wastewater treatment plant to ensure its longevity?

Exciting Developments at Amphitria Wastewater Treatment Plant!

Get ready for some major improvements at the Amphitria wastewater treatment plant in Cap Sicié! Métropole TPM is currently overseeing significant reinforcement works that will ensure the station’s longevity for the next three decades.

One impressive milestone has already been achieved – the successful transfer of the station’s new outfall from Brégaillon, its transit port, to the Amphitria site. Using a flotation method, the outfall was carefully positioned and submerged to align with the existing section of the dyke.

Built between 1994 and 1997, the Amphitria plant has faced its fair share of wear and tear over the years. To tackle this issue head-on, reinforcement work on the station’s dike and the replacement of the outfall commenced in May 2022 as part of the TPM Metropolis’ “Sanitation” project.

This project aims to protect the station and its emissary at sea, allowing the wastewater treatment plant to continue serving the communities of Toulon, Evenos, Ollioules, Le Revest-les-Eaux, Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer, La Seyne-sur-Mer, and Six-Fours-les-Plages effectively.
