Radiant skin – even when you get older: we all want that. And so we fanatically get to work with (DIY) beauty secrets. In the video series “Natural Beauty Secret or Optical Illusion?” Gwen van Poorten researches and tests all kinds of natural beauty secrets. This time: rosemary with sunflower oil. Read on and check out the video.
Flair along with Weleda
It reminds Gwen of a chicken dish, but rosemary can do so much more. Gwen investigates the effect of homemade rosemary oil. What does it do to her skin and how does she react to it?
Is the oil a real beauty secret and could it help against skin aging? Or is it better to go for one edge-a-ready oil?
We all get older. How else do you ensure that you keep that smooth baby skin for as long as possible? We ask esthetician Stephanie Kuhn from Weleda. “What helps, of course, is eating healthy, exercising and not smoking. A daily skincare routine is also important. That can very simply consist of proper cleaning and lubrication with a day cream.
Finally, she has a tip that you hear less often: “It can help to turn off screens more often. Just like sunlight, a little blue light is not harmful. But if you often sit in front of a screen, it can cause skin aging.”
And then the key question: do DIY masks or creams also work? Stephanie: “They can work well and are fun to experiment with, but there are some things you have to take into account. First of all, sometimes you have to be patient.”
“Take rosemary oil, for example: it takes several weeks for the rosemary to soak into the oil and you cannot keep it for too long. In addition, the proportions are important in a DIY. Rosemary is a powerful herb and can cause irritation in the wrong proportions. So use a well-balanced recipe.”
“Or play it safe with a ready-made product such as the Skin Food Ultra-Light Dry Oil, a natural, fresh 2-phase spray that absorbs quickly and gives you a beautiful glow. This also contains rosemary leaf, so that the spray not only moisturizes, but also stimulates blood circulation. Weleda has been getting the best out of nature for 100 years. The Skin Food line consists of pure and 100% natural ingredients. You could even take a bite of it!”
In the video series ‘Natural Beauty Secret or Optical Illusion?’ presenter Gwen van Poorten will test more natural beauty secrets in the near future. She also talks to Weleda beauty expert Stephanie Kuhn about the pros and cons, risks and alternatives.
On June 28, the second video with Gwen will be online. Tip of the veil: it has everything to do with kkk-cold. Are you going to watch?
