Overview of the PX Index and Recent Value Trends on the Prague Stock Exchange

PX Index Falls for Fourth Consecutive Day on Prague Stock Exchange

The Prague Stock Exchange experienced its fourth consecutive day of decline as the PX index fell by 0.14 percent to 1303.05 points. The drop was primarily driven by the shares of banking groups Erste and Komerční banka. However, the decline was partially offset by the strengthening of energy company ČEZ’s shares, which traded in the largest volume.

Erste’s shares suffered the most significant fall among the main issues, dropping by 1.88 percent to 725.90 crowns. Komerční banka’s securities also lost 0.30 percent, settling at 658.50 crowns. On the other hand, ČEZ securities achieved the largest trading volume and the most significant strengthening of the main issues, adding 0.97 percent to 1,042 crowns. Despite this, the growth of ČEZ shares was not enough to outweigh the decline in Erste and Komerční banka shares, according to Wood & Company broker Vladimír Vávra.

The second-largest increase was recorded by the shares of insurance group VIG, rising by 0.79 percent to 573 crowns. Meanwhile, the Czech currency remained unchanged against the euro at 23.67 CZK
