As of Thursday evening, France was in 11th position in the medal table, which was dominated by Ukraine with three gold medals. The European Games, organized by the European Olympic Committees, bring together athletes from over 45 nations every four years. This year, the delegations are competing in 29 different sports until July 2. Some events, like BMX Freestyle, serve as European Championships, while others offer opportunities to earn quotas or points for the Olympic qualification ranking before Paris-2024.
Notably, Russia and Belarus were not invited to participate in the event, despite their previous success and involvement as the organizer in 2019.
