Mainkai to Host “Summer on the Main” with Sports and Cultural Events
Frankfurt, Germany – The Mainkai, a popular street section in Frankfurt, will once again be closed during the summer months to host the highly anticipated event, “Summer on the Main.” From July 5th to July 30th and from August 11th to August 20th, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a diverse program of sports and culture.
The aim of “Summer on the Main” is to transform the urban space into a sports and culture mile, connecting the old town with the Main and contributing to the creation of a Main Arena. Roland Frischkorn, Chairman of the Sportkreis Frankfurt eV, expressed his excitement about the event, stating, “In the future, this urban space is intended to connect the old town with the Main as a sports and culture mile, and thus contribute an essential part to a so-called Main Arena.”
Building on the success of previous years, this year’s program promises to be even more exciting. One of the highlights will be the 4×4 streetball tournament organized by the “EZBBASKETBALL” project. In addition, there will be opportunities to participate in tennis, table tennis, and various dance events. Cultural contributions will also be a significant part of the program.
To give people a taste of what to expect, shading, seating, and plant pots have already been provided on the street section. This creates a welcoming atmosphere for visitors to relax and enjoy the various activities and performances.
