Renowned Graffiti Artist ‘El Séptimo Crío’ Creates Urban Art Masterpiece in Parque Principado

The Asturian artist César Frey, also known as “El Séptimo Crío,” is set to create a new work of urban art in Parque Principado this week. Visitors will have the opportunity to witness the creation process firsthand as Frey works on a canvas located in the covered parking space on the ground floor.

Frey aims to “provoke sensations and transmit peace, beauty, and harmony” through his artwork. However, the cylindrical shape of the canvas poses a challenge as all pictorial elements deform from the observer’s point of view. Despite this complexity, Frey is determined to create a captivating piece.

Frey’s artistic career includes notable achievements such as his presence at Arco, the International Contemporary Art fair in Madrid, and collaborations with prestigious brands. In 2018, he designed the poster for the 82nd International Descent of the Sella. The unveiling of his new work in Parque Principado, which will predominantly feature black, white, and various shades of gray, is eagerly anticipated.

This urban art intervention is part of the “Nosolograffiti” initiative, launched by the center to promote urban art. Siero has gained international recognition as a destination for urban art due to the popularity of its murals. To coincide with the school year holidays, Parque Principado will host free urban art workshops for children and young people from June 26 to July 13. “El Séptimo Crío” will also participate in these workshops.

The workshops, scheduled from Monday to Thursday, will provide participants with an introduction to urban art and the opportunity to experience spray painting. Three daily sessions will be offered at 12:00, 16:00, and 18:00. Interested individuals can reserve a place at the Information Point or by calling 986 266 856 with the Parque Principado App. Alternatively, they can go to the meeting point on the day of the workshop until full capacity is reached.

The creation of Frey’s new urban art piece and the accompanying workshops aim to further promote and celebrate the vibrant world of urban art in Parque Principado.
