Jakarta – Suzuki has recently launched the Suzuki Jimny Rhino Edition series, a limited luxury variant of the popular Suzuki Jimny. With only 30 units sold, this special edition model has garnered significant attention due to its unique design features and exclusive availability.
The Suzuki Jimny Rhino Edition stands out with its striking pure pearl white color, adorned with red, gray, and black stickers on the engine. Additionally, this variant features a rhino logo on the spare wheel cap, positioned at the rear. The overall design is further enhanced with high-gloss chrome mirror caps, a retro heritage grille, prominent aluminum-style skid plates, fenders, wind deflectors, and protective casing for the differential.
While the Rhino Edition boasts luxurious aesthetics, it does not come with any performance improvements. Under the hood, it retains the same 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, delivering 101 horsepower (75 kW / 102 PS) and 96 lb-ft (130 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox with a separate low-range shifter and the reliable AllGrip Pro system.
The Suzuki Jimny Rhino Edition is exclusively available in Malaysia, with a price tag of 174,900 Malaysian Ringgits, equivalent to approximately IDR 563 million. Interestingly, Naza Easter Motors, the Suzuki importer in Malaysia, will also offer a Rhino Edition kit for existing Jimny owners at a price of 15,000 Malaysian Ringgit or around Rp.48 million.
In Indonesia, the demand for the three-door Suzuki Jimny has been overwhelming, with a waiting period of up to seven years for customers. PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS), the official distributor, has temporarily closed the order faucet to focus on fulfilling requests according to the queue number. Currently, only 50 units are allocated per month for the 53 dealers, resulting in a shortage for some dealers.
The Suzuki Jimny is available in two models in Indonesia, namely single tone and two-tone variants. According to the manufacturer’s official website, the car is priced between Rp. 443.9 million to Rp. 460.5 million with Jakarta on the road status.
