Last year, the laundry hut proved to be a popular venue, and it will once again host performances during this year’s Fête de la Musique. Additionally, music will be made in the palace gardens, at the harbor, in Schlossstraße, and in the courtyards of the Kulturquartier, Kunsthaus, and the old kiosk in Seestraße.

One of the highlights of the festival will be the participation of the young band “operation no control,” who delighted the audience last year. The city of Neustrelitz aims to create an atmosphere of “nothing but music, music, music,” showcasing a wide range of musical styles, including classical music, jazz, world music, folk, and singer-songwriters. This year’s Fête de la Musique in Neustrelitz is part of a global event involving more than 80 cities in Germany and 1300 cities worldwide.

The festival will feature saxophone ensembles, a hunting horn group, and young bands such as “Grünkohl” and “Francke.” Choirs will also take the stage, along with children’s ensembles like the “Wild Roots,” piano music, and vocal ensembles from the music school Kon.centus. Dance ensembles have registered as well and will showcase excerpts from their programs on the meadow in front of the boathouse near Lake Zierker.

The grand finale of the event will be held on the Schlossberg stage, where a collaborative performance of the song “I don’t need millions, I’m not missing a penny for happiness, I need nothing more than just music, music, music” will take place.

To accommodate the festival, Schloßstraße will be completely closed from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the day of the event. Parking will not be possible, and the city of Neustrelitz kindly requests all road users to follow the signs.
