Apple will open a new Apple Store in London this Thursday.
In the next four years, Apple is planning up to 50 new stores worldwide. Among others in India, Malaysia, Paris, Miami and Shanghai.
Apple Battersea is located at Battersea Power Station. This is an old coal-fired power station that has been converted into a shopping center and has now of course been shut down.
Battersea is famous for being the backdrop for the cover of Pink Floyd’s Animals album. The work appeared in 1977. The cover features a large floating pig between the two chimneys of the power plant.
Wallpapers are available for download
Apple announced for a few days on the Store-Website opening at 4:00 p.m. local time. The homepage also offers a wallpaper in the store’s design that can be downloaded free of charge for desktop computers.
Today at Apple-Events geplant
“Today at Apple events” will also be offered in the store after the opening. The Art Tour: Drawing Perspective at Battersea Power Station allows the building to be explored and sketched using Procreate. The “Photo Tour: Capturing the Story of Battersea Power Station” invites you to a photo session at the power station. She is accompanied by professional photographers.
The store is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can also shop there on Sundays, always from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The exact address:
Ground Floor Turbine Hall A
Circus Road W
London, SW11 8AL
Even if you don’t have any shopping ulterior motives, it’s worth taking a look at the extraordinary store if you happen to be in London. Especially since Apple’s British headquarters are located in Battersea Power Station. In addition to the mall, there are apartments, office space and more. The US Embassy has also moved into the neighborhood. A new subway station was built especially for the shopping mall.
