With the coordination of the opponents, and Les Uprisings of the Earth, Attac France believes that the transport of goods on the rails should (and should already have!) be implemented now. Because yes, a freight line already exists but is underused! In addition, the colossal sums dedicated to this project (around 26 to 30 billion euros) could advantageously be transferred to current emergencies: daily trains, health, education, pensions, ecological transition…
The association supports the approach of the elected representatives of the NUPES in Parliament who initiated, on June 16, 2023, a popular parliamentary commission of inquiry on Lyon-Turin.
In parallel, Attac France supports the trade union organizations of railway workers who stand up for the maintenance of a public rail freight service.
