Manuel Zehnder (23) from Suhr is on loan from HC Erlangen for the coming season to be promoted to the Handball Bundesliga, ThSV Eisenach. There he meets his former sponsor Misha Kaufmann and his former teammate Timothy Reichmuth.
New challenge for Manuel Zehnder. After a total of 34 appearances and 48 goals in his first Bundesliga season for HC Erlangen, the national player is moving on to ThSV Eisenach. With Timothy Reichmuth, a third ex-HSCer is also under contract at ThSV Eisenach alongside Kaufmann and Zehnder.
Eisenach was promoted to the German handball upper house a week ago with ex-HSC trainer Misha Kaufmann. Kaufmann and Zehnder know each other very well from their times together at HSC Suhr Aarau.
The Bundesliga coach is looking forward to the reinforcements from his home country: “Manuel should lead our team together with Jannis Schneibel. He is a young man with exceptional abilities, very creative, with an overview, makes good decisions, opens up gaps for his team-mates and is a goal threat himself. With him we get an almost complete package.”
Manuel Zehnder moved from his home club HSC Suhr Aarau to Erlangen last summer after the 2020/21 season. Now the second club in Germany follows. In the meantime, Zehnder is also an integral part of the Swiss national team, having scored 51 goals in 13 appearances to date. L.A
