Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) Cases on the Rise in Madiun During Transition Season

Madiun ( beritajatim.com ) – Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Madiun is now starting to show an increase in cases. Records of the Madiun District Health Office, as of June 2023 there have been 73 cases. The Health Office also asked the public to be vigilant because currently it is still entering the transition season.

Head of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Coordinator at the Madiun Health Office, Agung Dodik Pujianto, said that the transition season supports mosquitoes to breed in large numbers. So that the spread of DHF is followed by a high population of mosquitoes.

“During the rainy and transitional seasons, Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes can breed rapidly. However, the growth and development of these mosquitoes is hampered during the summer,” said Agung, Wednesday (14/6/2023)

He explained that the lowest season for the spread of DHF was in June July August and his party held Fogging in Endemic Villages to prevent it. He claims the adult mosquitoes are gone and under control.

“There are endemic villages in Klecorejo Village, Blabakan Village, the Geger Health Center and Datangan Health Center areas. Because in that area there are always cases, so it needs to be handled by fumigation,” he added.
