The CEO of Play, Birgir Jónsson, sees the partnership with Düsseldorf Airport as another important building block in expanding the airline’s range of flights. “Düsseldorf Airport is the perfect addition to our growing route network,” says Jónsson.
Play has been flying since 2019 and is considered the successor to the airline “Wow Air”, which went bankrupt at the time, as several former managers are also involved in Airline Play.
The airport operator DUS said: “With Play we welcome an exciting new partner who enriches our flight schedule. Holidaymakers and business travelers now have additional options to the trend destination Iceland and from there to five cities in North America,” said Lars Redeligx, CEO of the airport operator.
