In an interview with Víctor Sánchez Rincones, Vallenato singer-songwriter Omar Geles revealed how much he charges an ‘unrecognized’ singer for an unpublished song. The figure was said to be $60 million.and delivers the song already produced.
“I started doing that for a while now. I charge $60 million for a song already produced”, however, he clarified that due to his multiple occupations he has not been able to deliver songs to all artists who have knocked on the doors.
“I have about 500 unpublished songs but there are some that have been done for a long time and I have to renew them. There are times when I don’t have how to solve a fast song for many people because I don’t have that much time”, he mentioned.
In addition, added that the new singers they look for him because his name guarantees ‘success’.
Some of the most popular minstrel songs are: ‘Un hoja en blanco’, ‘The ways of the life’, ‘Cross boyfriends’, and ‘Memories of a love’.
