From June 29 to July 1, residents of Saulkrasti district and guests of the city are invited to participate in the city festival of Saulkrasti district, which will take place in Jūras park, Mežapark and Saulkrasti stage with a wide and varied cultural and sports program. On Thursday at 20.00, the festivities will start with an ambitious and thematic green ball in the style of the 30s. Going back to the time when Neibadi was renamed Saulkrasti in 1933 and Latvian culture flourished in the area, green balls were one of the most popular socializing places of the residents. Remembering the founding ball of Saulkrasti 90 years ago, summer residents will be able to dance the best ball dances accompanied by the Rait Ashmans Orchestra. Soloists Raimonds Celms and Aija Vītoliņa. Visitors are invited to dress in costumes typical of the 1930s.
On June 29 and 30, the legendary beach volleyball tournament will be held for the 30th time in the Sea Park. “Saulkrasti cocktail”, but on June 30 and July 1, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) World Tour qualification system tournament for men – “Herbalife” 3×3 basketball cup stage and tournament for young men and women.
On July 1, at 11.00 a.m., a city festive procession is planned from the Saulkrasti sports center square to the Saulkrasti Mežapark, during the day there will also be Mākslinieku iela, a festive market and a children’s town. At 14.00, the rock band “Dzelzs vilks” will appear on the Mežaparks stage.
At the end of the festivities, at 20.00, an evening concert with “DAGAMBA”, “Musiqq” and Aija Andrejeva, as well as a ball with the group “Zuši” and DJ Magnus Eriņu.
